Explore the Salish Sea and ocean beyond during nine days of engaging events. All life depends on the ocean. There’s no bigger reason to celebrate and to learn about ocean conservation.
Participate in Ocean Week Victoria, June 1-9, culminating in World Ocean Day, celebrated annually worldwide on June 8th. Ocean Week Victoria is the hub for dozens of events throughout Greater Victoria, including festivals, beach cleanups, pub trivia, paddling activities, and educational programs. Thousands of participants are expected to attend the week’s offerings. Events are on offer for all ages and include virtual and in-person opportunities. There is something for everyone.
Ocean Week Victoria is book-ended with flagship festivals in Beacon Park, Sidney (June 2) and Fisherman’s Wharf, Victoria (June 9), and kicks off with a new family event in Esquimalt Gorge Park on June 1.
A full calendar of events can be found at Ocean Week Victoria.
About Ocean Week Victoria — Launched in 2020, Ocean Week Victoria is a regional partner of Ocean Week Canada, a national initiative to bring awareness to ocean health and conservation, while also providing a fun and family-friendly way to enjoy the ocean. This work extends beyond Canada, as the United Nations has declared 2021-2030 the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Ocean Week Victoria is volunteer-led and is a collaboration between businesses, non-profit societies, government agencies, scientists, educators, and artists.
